The service
Cycologist is an app connecting riders with bike shops for service booking and tracking, plus ride logging and a community forum. By using it you agree to these terms.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Give us accurate information — shops rely on it to find your bike and reach you.
Subscriptions
- Rider Plus is free at present. We may start charging for it in future, with at least 30 days' notice; if we do, it will be an auto-renewing subscription purchased and cancelled through your Apple account.
- Shop plans are free at present. When charging begins they will be billed monthly by card through this website and renew until cancelled, with notice beforehand; you can cancel any time and access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.
Community rules
Posting in the forum or organising rides means agreeing not to:
- harass, threaten or abuse other people;
- post spam, advertising or repeated promotional content;
- give advice you know to be unsafe;
- impersonate another rider, a shop, or Cycologist;
- post content you do not have the right to post.
We can hide or remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. Content reported by several different people is hidden automatically pending review.
Service work is between you and the shop
Cycologist is where the booking and the paperwork live. The actual repair is a contract between you and the shop — including what it costs, how long it takes, quality of work, and any warranty. We are not a party to it and cannot arbitrate disputes about it.
Ride safely
Ride tracking is a record, not a safety system. Do not operate the app while riding. Routes, distances and any advice you read in the forum are provided as-is — you are responsible for your own safety and for the mechanical condition of your bike.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending it
Ask us to delete your account whenever you like, by emailing the address below. We may suspend or close accounts that repeatedly break these terms.
